Still one of the best value enthusiast cameras in the UK. It lacks stabilisation and a modern articulating screen, but for photographs it delivers results well above what the current price suggests.

Our take
Fast, reliable autofocus in a small, tough body. The A6400 has been a default recommendation for years, and falling prices have only strengthened the case.
Yes, particularly on price. The 24MP sensor and autofocus system remain thoroughly competitive for stills, and years of discounting have made it one of the best value ways into a decent interchangeable lens system.
Not in the body. You can use stabilised lenses, but handheld video and slow shutter speeds are harder work than on the A6700, which does have it.
The A6400 has a tougher, weather-resistant body and a better viewfinder. The A6100 is cheaper and shares much of the same core performance. If budget is tight the A6100 is a bargain; if you shoot outdoors regularly, spend the extra.
