£3.99 delivery · You buy directly from JD Williams

The sensible current travel compact if you want reach and a flip screen in your pocket. It does not fix the small-sensor limits of the category — for that you want the larger-sensor TZ100 or TZ300 — but it is the most up-to-date, easiest-to-share TZ you can…

Our take

Panasonic Lumix TZ99 review: the travel zoom, refreshed for 2026

A 24–720mm Leica zoom, a 180-degree tilting touchscreen and one-button Bluetooth transfer to your phone. The TZ99 is Panasonic’s current pocket travel camera — here is whether it is worth it over the older TZ models.

What we like

  • 30x Leica zoom, 24–720mm equivalent, in a pocketable body
  • 180-degree tilting touchscreen for selfies and awkward angles
  • Bluetooth and a one-press button to send photos to your phone
  • 4K Photo pulls 8MP stills out of 4K video for fleeting moments

What to watch

  • Small 1/2.3-inch-class sensor limits low-light quality
  • Priced well above the older TZ models it replaces
  • Long end of the zoom needs good light and a steady hand
  • A modern phone matches it at wide angle

Quick answers

How much zoom does the Lumix TZ99 have?

30x optical, from a wide 24mm to 720mm equivalent. That covers everything from street scenes to distant wildlife — far beyond anything a phone can reach optically.

Does the TZ99 have a flip screen?

Yes. The touchscreen tilts up to 180 degrees, so it faces forward for selfies and group shots.

TZ99 or TZ90?

They share the 30x zoom idea. The TZ99 is the newer model, with Bluetooth transfer and a current design; the TZ90 is older and usually cheaper. If the TZ90 is still available at a lower price, it remains good value.
