A hybrid Instax with a genuinely original trick. The audio-in-a-QR-code idea sounds gimmicky and turns out to be surprisingly moving on a birthday or a wedding print — but you are buying it for that, not for image quality.

Our take
A hybrid Instax that prints selectively, works as a phone printer, and hides a ten-second audio clip inside a QR code on every print. Odd, clever, and genuinely charming.
The camera records up to ten seconds of audio and prints a QR code onto the photograph. Scanning the code with a phone plays the clip back. A print of a child with their voice attached is a different object to a plain photograph.
Yes, over the app, so it works as a small wireless printer for images already on your phone as well as a camera in its own right.
The Mini Evo has far better effects and a more premium feel; the LiPlay is smaller, lighter and has the audio trick. Both let you preview before printing, which is the main reason to buy either.
