What is 8K Open Gate?
Open Gate records the full area of the sensor rather than a cropped 16:9 slice. You get maximum resolution and the freedom to produce widescreen, square and vertical versions from one take — invaluable if you deliver the same footage to YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
What does 32-bit float audio do?
It captures such a wide dynamic range that audio which would normally clip into distortion can be pulled back in editing. For a camera strapped to a motorbike or a chest harness, where levels are unpredictable, it removes the single most common way to ruin a take.
How slow can the slow motion go?
Up to 8x at 4K and 32x at 1080p, with 4K240/200 and 1080p480/400 modes. That is comfortably beyond what most dedicated cameras manage, let alone action cameras.

GoPro Mission 1 Pro is an action camera with a 1-inch sensor and the GP3 processor, with enhanced image tuning. It records up to 8K60/50, 4K240/200 and 1080p480/400 video in 16:9, 9:16 or 4:3 aspect ratios, with 8K Open Gate capture and up to 32x slow motion. HyperSmooth video stabilisation with AutoBoost and Horizon Lock keep footage steady, with HLG HDR, 8-bit, 10-bit or 10-bit Log encoding, and a 240Mbps bitrate.
Field of view ranges from 112 to 157 degrees. Photos reach 50MP standard or RAW, with 4x zoom and 32-bit float audio recording. The camera is waterproof to 20m without housing, with a 2.59-inch rear OLED touchscreen and a 1.4-inch front screen, and supports live streaming.
The battery delivers over 3 hours of continuous 4K30 recording or over 5 hours of 1080p30 recording. Includes the Mission 1 Pro camera, Enduro 2 battery, removable lens hood, curved adhesive mount, mounting buckle with thumb screw and USB-C cable.
